Gangsters & Ghosts
Gangsters & Ghosts Vol I, is my first solo EP. The two singles, "Three Can Keep A Seceret," and "Better Than That," have received air play on KMHD FM's "I Like It Like That!," with "Three Can Keep A Secret" coming in on KMUZ FM's "Local Roots Music NW" top 40!
Recording began at The Lab studios in Portland, Or. with John Neff (Journey, Walter Becker and Donald Fagan) engineering. After the pandemic hit I decided to invest the time I had on my hands to build up my own studio at home and I finished the EP there.
The Reverend Willie Jaam handled the bass, with me taking care of vocals, guitar, Mando-guitar, harmonica, keyboards, concertina and drums/percussion.
The track, Money Talks, features clarinet by Brenna McBride, and contra-alto clarinet by Margot Monti(The Hopewell West).
Recording at The Lab with John Neff of course!
the Rev Willie Jaam on bass!
My happy place.
The artwork for Gangsters & Ghosts was done by J. Michael Niotta. I met J. Michael through my hobby studying organized crime history. J. Michael is not only an author, musician, and artist, he's also Jack Dragna's great-grandson. Here we are at the MobWorld Summit in Las Vegas. This was in the speakeasy at the Mob Museum. L-R Me, J. Michael, Meyer Lansky II.
